Kids Talents, the French-speaking community of fans, gathers French-speaking websites about French and international young actors. The passion that drives every member of this community is the interest we have in young actors and our admiration for their talent.
In addition to the members' websites, the community offers visitors a forum to interact with other fans as well as with the webmasters. The community also has a chatroom, a way to give fans the opportunity to interact live with some young actors.
At the beginning of Kids Talents (ATL) : one passion (young actors) and three
websites, Audiovisuelnet, Todaystars and Littlestars.
Today, it's much more than a simple shared forum. It's a large community gathering
fans, enabling them to interact and share information about their favorite young
actors. It's also a gate opening on the world of French-speaking websites on
young actors.
The community is based on the following principles and advantages :
The community is not to be summed up to a simple shared forum and chatroom. Every fan's energy being put in the same place, Kids Talents has a strong potential that will allow it to be recognized by both entertainment professional people and internet users, something an isolated website can't achieve. The community is meant to be a portal on the young actors' world.
One of the strong principle of the community is the no-competition principle. We consider it a waste of energy and talent to be many to do almost the same things. We can reach a coherent whole by completing each other and recognizing everyone's specifics and talents. It is also a way to move on faster and to give better quality services and information. Being united makes us stronger.
Part of Internet's advantages is the nickname system : it erases all the differences linked to our appearances. In the community, the only things that matter are your actions and the fact that you take part in the whole process. Whether you are 10 or 50-years old, a CEO or unemployed, or whether your eyes are blue or dark, none of these matters. The community welcomes everyone, without judging people at first sight.
The members' websites are classified in two main categories :
- fan sites : fully elaborated in-depth websites, updated on a regular basis
- personal pages and blogs : much simpler websites
Because we consider that every fan has the right to share its passions, whether he is familiar to computer sciences or not, the community recognizes and honours both elaborated, in-depth websites and much simpler websites.
The websites are classified by the community's moderators.
1 - DUTIES
As a member of the community, here are your duties :
a) The name of your website must be different from the other websites of the community. It can't be only the name and surname of the actor, as this is only for official websites. For example : Jake Lloyd is not a name allowed whereas Jake Lloyd Forever is OK.

Though the community is ruled the the founding members, any ideas end suggestions are welcomed.
The administrators have the right to refuse any request of membership if they judge it inaproriate or if it doesn't suit the criterias.
As a community, our goal is to gather our knowledge and information and share them with everyone.
A young talent is, before anything else, a child, so usually underage. Keeping that in mind, with must be very cautious in the way we put information we have about them. There mustn't be any ambiguity, so everyone must watch the words they use.
Don't hesitate to try and say what you want to say in another way if ever you think your words might be misinterpreted.
We do not wish to spread rumors related to young talents' private lives.
Hasty and non-justified judgments like "He sucks" or "I looooooooooooooove him" are not welcomed.Criticism of young talents are allowed, of course, as long as their are done in a decent way, justified and as long as you clearly show that it is your personal opinion, not a general statement.
We do not wish to encourage people to consider young talents as idols, just as talented young people.
A young talent is more than a picture, a "nice face".
A young talent is also an artist, he is part of the entertainment world. Considering this, we want to respect their work and dedication.
Everyone has different tastes, so we consider that people may not like some of their works, but this doesn't justify in any way rude behaviors towards young talents. We believe that no one is perfect. Young talents are also human beings and they are allowed to make mistakes.
All this emphatize the responsibility and caution each member must have while talking about young talents. In order to prevent any problem, we ask every member to understand and abide by the community's ethics by being careful abour what they write abour young talents.
Convinced ? In order to sign up, you must be a member of the forum. Once logged in, you will see a "add your website (ajouter votre site)" link at the bottom of the young talents' pages as well as a "add a new actor (ajouter un nouvel acteur)" if the actor is not included in the directory yet.
The community was founded by Audiovisuelnet, Todaystars et Little-Stars in 2002, a year not so far away, still, very different from today. Back then, the only French-speaking websites about young talents were our three websites. Gathered by our admiration towards young talents, and sharing the same idea that young talents were not recognized enough by the audience, the three websites decided to get united rather than to fight.
Audiovisuelnet and Littlestars both had their own message boards, but the same people were posting on both. That's why we decided to create a common forum for the three websites. This way, all the fans were gathered in the same place. That's when ATL was really born.
So, it's back in 2002 that the shared forum was created by G.C., webmaster of Little-stars. Before that, in 2001, there had already been a common chat to celebrate the French releas of A.I., Artificial Intelligence. That was the first common chat event.
This website was then created to set up a common portal to the three websites. It is also a great way to get recognized, both by the general audience, actors and professionals. Last, but not least, this website allows fans of young talents to have an important website about young talents.
In autumn 2005, glad to see that there were now more and more French-speaking
fansites dedicated to young talents, ATL decided to adapt in order to become
a portal to French-speaking websites about young talents and gather the whole
community of French-speaking fans of young talents together in one place. This
evolution reaches the primary goal for which the community was created years
ago.
In 2006, the news website is put online. The name changes from ATL to Kids Talents,
and the URL becomes kidstalents.net
Created in 2000, Audiovisuelnet was divided from the start into two main parts : young talents and films/tv series. Jake Lloyd, Haley Joel Osment and Ryan Merriman were the first ones to be featured on the website, before being joined by more than ten more talents from all around the world. Audiovisuelnet's goal is not to be limited to the USA or France only. The website had a huge success from the start and kept this success even during long times with no updates between 2002 and 2005. In December 2005, the website came back to life in a new, dynamic, W3C certified and refreshing website, but it losts its English version in the process. The pages about Ryan Merrriman grew into a complete fansite, Ryan Merriman Forever.
Created in 2000, Todaystars is focused on French young actors, who are not widely recognized. Each actor has a page containing his/her resume as well as numerous screencaptures and sometimes even exclusive photographs. Todaystars' mailing list is very active and gives subscribers the opportunity to get in touch with some French young actors by e-mail. A weekly (French) TV program is displayed through the mailing-list. It's a must-see website for any French young actors' fan !
Created in 2001, Littlestars is mainly dedicated to foreign young actors from the past, today and tomorrow... Each young actor is presented in depth : biography, resume, numerous photographs, news, video clips. You can find original wallpapers as well as screencaptures made by the site, in addition to in-depth news.
Main actors: Foreign actors like Jake Lloyd, Jake Thomas, Haley Joel Osment, Freddie Highmore and Jeremy Sumpter
